Has a Product You Purchased Recently Been Recalled?
Every week there are new products being recalled due to some sort of safety hazard. These products can include automobiles, children’s toys, food, or furniture and other household items. At the LaBovick Law Group we believe it is very important to keep an eye on such recalls in case something you own ends up on this recall list. The following are just a few of the latest recalls released by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC):
Hampton Bay-branded Niles Park Collection patio sets: This patio set, sold exclusively at Home Depot, has been recalled due to a fall hazard. The rocking chairs included in the patio set can break during normal use of the chair. There have been three reports of this happening. Fortunately, there have not been any reported injuries. The SKU numbers of the products included in the recall are as follows: 658479, 658480, 658485, 658486, 662696, 682688 or 1000051056.
Consumers who purchased the set should stop using the rocking chair and contact Dimension Industries for a full refund for either the complete patio set or for the sets of two chairs if purchased separately.
Stokke Trailz Stroller: This item has been recalled because the handle can fall off creating a situation where the infant could fall. There were approximately 400 units of this item sold between November 2014 and December 2014. Although there have been no reported injuries there have been nine reports of the handle breaking.
If you own the Stokke Trailz stroller you should immediately stop use of the product and contact Stokke to schedule a repair.
Bauer Hockey Goalie Masks and Replacement Wires: Bauer has recalled this product because the metal wires on the mask can break and cause a facial impact or laceration hazard. There have been several reports of this happening in Canada and one report from the Unites States. Four reports included a laceration injury caused by the product.
Consumers should immediately stop using the goalie masks as well as the replacement wires and contact Bauer Hockey as soon as possible for a free replacement wire cage and complimentary throat protector.
If you own any of these products it is very important to stop using them immediately. Items that have been recalled over a safety issue can be very dangerous. It is important to contact the product’s manufacturer to fix the issue or return the item and get your money back.
