SSD Legal Assistant

AV-Rated law firm is looking for a part-time or full-time Legal Assistant with experience and passion for helping SSD claimants obtain their benefits.

Position Requirements:
  • Minimum of 1-yr Law Firm or Legal Assistant experience
  • Proficient in MS Word, and Outlook
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) a plus, but not required
  • Trial Works case management a plus, but not required
Responsibilities Include:
  • Speak with claimants regarding their SSD/SSDI application(s)
  • Assist in preparation and submission of initial and recon applications
  • Obtain & review medical records
  • Mailing of welcome letters and new client packages
  • Scan mail to case management software
  • Calendar deadlines
  • Complete daily case management tasks
Skills Necessary to be Successful:
  • Positive communication with Clients, SSD, ODAR and Healthcare Professionals
  • Team player with other staff members within and outside your team
  • Professional and positive attitude
  • Ability to prioritize with minimum supervision
  • Detail Oriented and meticulous with work product
  • Consistent processes to ensure deadlines are met
  • Ability to work regular office hours, Monday thru Friday from 8:30a until 5:30p
